The Oberlin Past Students’ Association, established in 1982, supports Oberlin High, its alumni, and our local communities. We aim to foster a strong network of former students and friends who share Oberlin Pride, connect through networking opportunities, and engage in philanthropic endeavors.
We strive to assist Oberlin High in providing enhanced learning opportunities for current and future students. Through fundraising activities and annual dues collected from members, we support the school's mission to nurture young minds and uphold its legacy.
Membership is open to anyone who attended Oberlin High, and we encourage all past students to register formally, contribute their dues, and participate in our association's activities. As beneficiaries of our Alma Mater's education, we believe in giving back to support the school's continued success and impact on future generations.
The mission of the Oberlin Past Students’ Association is to promote, encourage, and engage in the development of Oberlin High. It will become and remain a stellar educational institution of choice for the immediate community and high school students in general. We can achieve this through collaboration with the leaders of the Oberlin students and teachers.
Additionally, OPSA seeks to cultivate a culture of ‘alma mater’ within the Oberlin Alumni community.
It shall be the purpose of the Alumni to:
Commitment – at least one significant fund raising activity each year.
Community – at least one ‘comradeship’ event each year to build the friendship or connectedness among the members and to attract other members
Fellowship – building commitment and a feeling of ownership through regular communication with membership keeping them updated on all events relating to the Association and significant events regarding the School. The communication medium will be social media, email and non-electronic means where necessary.
Membership – expand the membership of the association by carrying out a drive to contact persons who have expressed interest, members of year groups, others whose contacts have been obtained from friends and colleagues.
Service – serve the School in at least one significant way each year.
